The True Goal of Reinvention

The mission of this course is to help you create whole-life success. Though we use the lens of career, we’re really talking about all aspects of your life.

Remember that jobs are a delivery device for the life you hope to lead. The whole point of working is to help create a life you love living.

If you dive right away into setting a job goal, you’ll miss out on the big payoff of reinvention. So before laser focusing on which next career you’ll pursue, we begin by taking a step back to look at the big picture.

Reinvention Law #1 states: It starts with a vision for your life. 

This journey is a conduit for becoming the kind of person you want to be, experiencing the things you want to experience, having the things you want to have. You’ll need to put on your binoculars to bring the picture into focus!

Paint a picture of what you’d like: A creative and exciting job? More time with the kids? Flexibility so you can pursue a passion project on the side? Space for romance? 

You need to pull your desires together in three key areas. (Like a three-legged stool, when all are present your life is stable.)  You’ll then craft specific, vision-driven, reinvention goals to ensure the career you target supports what you want in all areas of your life.
